Overview

Marvine Gabriel is a Trainee Advocate at O’Bang Law, having joined the firm in September 2023 as an intern and subsequently retained due to his consistent growth and contribution within the Corporate, Commercial & Litigation Department. He is highly regarded for his strong legal research skills and meticulous attention to detail, which have been instrumental in resolving complex client issues. Gabriel has assisted in corporate and commercial transactions, litigation, and Alternative Dispute Resolution, including drafting legal opinions and court pleadings that have resulted in favourable judgments, settlements, and withdrawals of suits. Fluent in English and Kiswahili, he has supported international clients through policy translations and contributed to fiscal policy recommendations on digital marketplaces and payment service providers. In the firm, he has been:

Part of the team that developed a case strategy for our Client, a former Employee at DHL in a claim for unfair termination in Nairobi ELRC Cause NO. 271 of 2020, which helped the court develop jurisprudence on the issue of Conflict of interest in the place of employment and culminated in our client being awarded KES. 3, 800, 862.56.

  2. Part of the team that develops case strategies for Clients in debt collection matters, which lead to positive outcomes in various matters, including an award of USD 9,075.57, being debt owed to our Client Red dot distributors in Milimani MCCOMMSU NO. E1042 OF 2025.

  3. Part of the team that successfully represented a client in an insurance claim in Mavoko MCCC NO. E433 of 2024 which saw our client awarded a total sum of KES. 3,280,612/= together with costs and interest of the suit.

  4. Successfully advised Kilimall International Limited on the lawful handling of a number of employees allegedly involved in theft of company property. The advisory focused on evidentiary assessment and legal analysis to determine circumstances giving rise to criminal liability, thereby mitigating the risk of malicious prosecution claims and instances where summary dismissal was legally justified, reducing exposure to unfair termination claims.
